The Miami Beach Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association Mission Statement:

The Miami Beach Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association is committed to the improvement of the quality of life by developing, enabling and nurturing positive communication, mutual understanding and support between the Police Department, the City Administration and the citizens of Miami Beach, Florida.


The Goals of the Miami Beach Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association:

A.      To facilitate the recruitment of new students for the Citizen’s Police Academy

B.      To seek out and recruit sponsors for the Citizens’ Police Academy program.

C.      To serve in an advisory capacity to the Police Department with respect to matters pertaining to the Citizens’ Police Academy.

D.      To research and advise on new training programs or other issues relating to the Alumni Association members

E. To serve in a support capacity with the Police Department and the Citizens of Miami Beach in implementing the needs of the Police Department.


The Citizens Police Academy is a free 12 week course

The course runs from 6.00 pm  to 9.00 pm for 12 consecutive Wednesdays.

The Academy provides hands-on training program in a friendly atmosphere.

The course is open to all Miami Beach residents and workers. 

The course is run by the Police Department and closely follows the actual hands-on training Police officers undergo. All instructors in this program are Miami Beach Police Department employees. Our goal is to build a closer bond with our resident and business community. We promise you, once you have taken this course, you will have a different outlook on the Beach Police!
